History of the Faculty

The Faculty of Natural Sciences was founded in February 1978, and in the same year, 50 students were admitted to the specialty of “Chemistry-Biology.” In 1986, the specialty of “Chemistry-Ecology” was opened.

Currently, the faculty has over 1000 students and employs 60 professors and lecturers. The scientific potential comprises 50%, with 57 full-time faculty members, including 1 Doctor of Science, 25 Candidates of Science, 5 PhD holders, and 41 Master’s degree holders. The proportion of full-time faculty members to the total number is 95%.

At present, the faculty’s structure comprises 3 departments:

Biology;

Ecology;

Chemistry and Chemical Technology.
