The history of the department

The history of the department began in 1978, when it was withdrawn from the Department of Chemistry and Biology as an independent structural unit. Since 1979 the name of the department has been renamed into the department “Biology”. Year after year the institute developed, the work of the department actively increased, the name began to correspond to the specialty. For several years the department was headed by Urazayev EG, Aipeisova S.A, Teleuov AN, Mendybaev E.H, Temirova A.M, Tazhigulova B.M, Turgeneva OM, Isimova R .I., Admanova G.B., Kazkeev E.T. Since May, 2017 the post of the head of the department has been occupied by Ph.D. Admanova G.B.

The following representatives of the faculty made their contribution to the development of the department: Olkhovik NV, Urazaev EG, Sadykov AR, Dryamova MD, Khasenov KO, Isabayev S.Ya., Aipeisova SA, Brudnaya SM, Fandina AV, Osinova MG, Tsygankov IG

Currently, the Department of Biology trains specialists under the following educational programs:

Academic degree Bachelor:

  • 6В01505 – Biology
  • 6В05101 – Biology
  • 6В05102- Biotechnology

Academic Master’s degree:

  • 7М01505- Biology
  • 7М05101- Biology

Terms of training of bachelor’s specialists:

  • full-time education – 4 years;
  • distance learning – 2 years and 3 years.

Training of graduate students:

  • scientific and pedagogical direction – 2 years;
  • profile direction – 1.5 years.

Currently, students at the Department of biology are holders of state educational grants, rural quotas, holders of grants of akim, holders of grants of the program «Serpin».

Undergraduate graduates are awarded academic degrees – “Bachelor of education”, “Bachelor of science”, and graduate students are awarded academic degrees – “Master of pedagogical Sciences”, “Master of natural Sciences”.

The implementation of educational programs such as 6В01505 – Biology, 6В05101 – Biology, 7М05101 – Biology is carried out at the Department of Biology in accordance with the certificate issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Science and Education on the basis of accreditation of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period from 05.12.2021. to 04.12.2026.

Educational program 5В011300 – Biology took part in various external evaluation procedures, including in ratings and ranking of universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, where, in 2017, it took 3rd place.

Еducational program 7М01505-“Biology” was held specialized accreditation independent Agency of accreditation and examination of quality of education of ARQA for a period of 5 years (12.06.2020 G. – G. 11.06.2025).

 

The educational program 6В05102-Biotechnology is accredited by the Association for Engineering Education of Kazakhstan Kazsee for a period of 5 years (12/23/2020 – 12/22/2025).

Candidates of Science – 8, Masters -15 work at the department, level of gradualness of the department is  47%.

Teachers of the Department, studying in doctoral studies in the target areas: Kuanbai Zh. I. – L. Gumilev Eurasian University, specialty 6D060700 – “Biology”, Turalin B. A.-Kazakh national University. Al-Farabi on the specialty 6D061300- “Geobotany”, Saribaev B. B. – University. Abaya majored IN 6d011300 – “Biology”

Teachers of the department Kukenov Zh. Zh. And Kairova A.T. according to the educational program 8D01301 pedagogy and methods of primary education (ARU named after K. Zhubanov) N. Tazhigulov at the Department of Biology of Pamukkale University (Turkey) continue their knowledge in doctoral studies.

In order to improve the quality of the educational process and the application of the acquired knowledge in practice, today the following branches have been opened on the basis of the Department of biology: New secondary school-Lyceum, school named after sh. Bekmukhambetov (Wilsky district), Aktobe higher agricultural College, City station of young naturalists, Irgiz-Torgay state natural reserve, in 2019-2020 Aktobe regional quarantine Laboratory, Aktobe humanitarian College, and also in the 2020-2021 academic year, a branch of the Department of Biology was opened in the T.Zharmagambetov secondary school (Bayganinsky district), in the 2021-2022 academic year in the Akkemersky district of the Mugalzhar district and the Kazakh Secondary School No. 1 of the Irgiz district.

– Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Izimova R. I. winner of the “Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for achievements in the implementation of the educational program” (2019);

– PhD, Associate Professor Bazargalieva A. A. “For merits in the development of the University”, holder of the badge of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan “For merits in the development of science” (2022);

– PhD, Associate Professor Kazkeev E. T. (2009), PhD Makhambetov M. Zh. (2017) “The best teacher of the University of the Republic of Kazakhstan” Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

– Master’s degree, senior lecturer G. O. Keubasova completed an internship at the Swiss University of Montreux School of Business under the Bolashak program (2014);

– PhD Isimov A.M. winner of the competition “Best researcher 2023”, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

– PhD, senior lecturer Admanova G. B. Within the framework of the project “500 scientists” of the program of the future, he is undergoing a scientific internship at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (2024).


Many teachers are experts and members of the jury of the Olympiads and scientific competitions, which are organized by the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn” and the Small Academy of Sciences.


The faculty actively participates in international, republican, regional scientific and practical conferences, seminars and in order to improve the scientific and methodical level, it constantly conducts refresher courses.
