Аnti-nuclear movement

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the «Semey-Nevada» anti-nuclear movement, organized by A.Sh. Kalieva, senior lecturer in the Department of Ecology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, a meeting was held at the Zhalynda Zhastar – Beibit Eldin Zhalgasy Faculty. Representatives of the social and environmental movement “Nevada-Semipalatinsk” were invited: Kozy Kibatov, professor of the regional academy of management, associate professor, chairman of the West Kazakhstan commission of the social and environmental movement “Nevada-Semey”, Izimgali Kobenov, oncologist, professor, director of the regional academy of management , Nevada-Semey of the Kazakhstan regional branch, cavalier of the Kurmet order and veteran of the Nevada-Semipalatinsk training ground Serikbay Kaydosov. The meeting was opened by the dean of the faculty M.Zh. Makhambetov, where our students read reports and poems about the social and environmental movement “Nevada – Semey.” The invited guests discussed with the students the environmental consequences of nuclear explosions and the various actions of the Nevada – Semey antinuclear movement. Students asked questions and exchanged views.
